The Ultra-Light is the smallest, lightest, full-scale travel guitar on the market. Our proprietary In-Body Tuning System uses standard tuning machines relocated into the body, eliminating the need for a headstock. You get the same full-scale playing experience you're used to on an instrument that's substantially shorter and lighter than a typical full-size electric.

Great Practice Guitar

"I wanted a guitar small enough that I could sit in my easy chair and work through scales, triads, chord changes and memorize the fretboard during the late evening while we watch a little TV. But to practice effectively it had to have a full-length fretboard. I also wanted to make sure I could: put flatwounds on it, raise and lower the action and adjust the truss rod. I put locking quick release buttons for my strap and got it hanging on the side of our bookcase - out of sight but always on my mind. I bought it factory direct because it was the best deal and customer service was fantastic. My Ultra-Light Electric came sooner than expected and is everything I wanted."

"Pretty much as good as a compact guitar like this can be. No frills, no complicated setup, just plug it into a little amp and play while you're on the go. Love mine"

Fantastic guitar!

"I was absolutely surprised by how much I love this little guitar. We bought it as carry-on for longer trips but it's actually fun to play and sounds great. I keep it near my desk and play it frequently when I'm on long meetings as a participant-only. I often don't even bother with my headphone amp - it even sounds good "acoustic" Unfortunately, my baby was stolen in a car break-in recently. I ordered a replacment for the original the next day. Reached out to the company today to get the receipt for the original from a few years back (for insurance) and got a response in under 15 minutes. Freaking amazing!"

The Perfect Compact Bass

"Received the Ultra-Light 5-String Bass. When I opened package, WOW! A great looking, high quality instrument. I plugged it in, and it needed, the following, A-Action way too low (for me), B-Thumb rest in the way (for me), C-Wall hanger on the top not really (for me). I called Traveler (actually spoke to someone) and was instructed to shim the bridge saddle with card stock to raise the action. I did so, removed the thumb rest and wall hanger and POW! Just what I need. I have some high line stuff like, Modulus, Status Graphite, Steinberger XL2, Ernie Ball, Fender, G&L, etc. This thing may not measure up to those (Lawd, some cost 10 time as much), however it is just what I need to practice, anywhere. I'm actually going to use it as a backup in the event of battery failure etc. , when playing live. I highly recommend this for anyone that needs a compact, go anywhere, quality bass."

Even Better

"I purchased my first Traveler Guitar about 20 years ago (a Pro-Series Standard), and it has journeyed with me faithfully on both business and pleasure trips. The many years of rough handling left it with a small crack near the bottom (it is still totally playable), so I decided to replace it. Recently, I purchased a new Ultra-Light Electric, and I am very happy with it. Tuning is easier, and string replacement seems improved. The new pickup produces rich, clean tones, as well as nice overdrive. I expect this guitar to easily last another 20 years or more."

Great Travel Guitar!

"I’ve been wanting to write a review of this guitar for a while now. About six years ago I purchased the ultralight acoustic, then purchased the ultralight electric a little over a year ago. Both guitars came perfectly setup and have held up exceptionally well with weekly air travel. As an airline pilot, both of my guitars are well-traveled. I take one with me every time I leave for work. They are quiet, so playing in a hotel room anytime day or night will never disturb your neighbors. I use both a headphone amp and a mini travel amp. The headphone amp is nice while around people in airports or while sitting in the back of airplanes. Played quietly, the mini amp is great for hotel rooms and is nice because you don’t need headphones in your ears. Since these are travel guitars the gig bags are essential included accessories. Although I need to replace the bags after a couple years of use, they are well built and adequate to keep the guitar safe. The strap makes it easy to throw over your shoulder and carry through airports while keeping your hands free. I can’t say enough good things about these guitars. They are excellent. They keep me productive while I’m traveling and are simply a lot of fun to play. I almost don’t feel like I’m at work when I’m playing them. I highly encourage anyone who already plays guitar, or wants to learn guitar and travels frequently to consider Traveler Guitar’s Ultralight Series."

Great little guitar

"Ours arrived with no issues. Great setup. Perfect intonation. The neck is very easy to play. Sounds surprisingly good too. We travel with a Spark Go amp, which more than makes up for the lack of a volume and tone control on the guitar. Since we bought it two months ago, the Ultra Light has been to Montana, Los Angeles, Phoenix, London and North Wales. Going to North Carolina and Atlanta next month. Stays in tune too. Without a strap, the guitar has moderate neck dive. It is perfectly balanced on a strap. Most of the time I use a neck strap and don't bother attaching the lap rest. The thing is so light there isn't any reason to put some of the weight on my leg. 5 stars overall, but of course there are compromises due to the compact size. It is awkward to tune and the strings "stick" slightly due to the over the tail and through the velcro routing. Once it is tuned it stays in tune better than most guitars so this is a minor issue. There isn't anywhere good to rest your right arm when playing. Minor issue."

Buy One!

"I was looking for a guitar to keep on my work desk and take on the road. I obsessed for weeks about which one to buy. I'm very pleased with my decision. When doing my research I did read many folks recommending the locking tuners. I bought those and they installed them for me, which was awesome! I play this guitar every day. It fits in my backpack (i. e. , no extra carry one bag), sounds decent w/o the headphone amp. I compared this to every other travel option out there and I really think that this is an excellent choice."
