A Customer Profile Of Guitar Instructor Joey Ratledge
Are people learning guitar in a fundamentally different way than they were 15 years ago? With the advent of YouTube, the answer is an obvious and resounding YES. But what about students who opt for more traditional learning pathways such as one-on-one lessons?
We sat down with Traveler Guitar customer and Chop House owner/guitar instructor Joey Ratledge to talk about his 21st Century approach.
"Feels like the real thing...satisfying to play."

Dylan Dunlap Rocks his Ultra-Light
Tuesday night on NBC’s The Voice, 18-year-old Indie-Folk Singer Dylan Dunlap strode on stage in front of 14 million viewers—armed with his Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light—and tore into a funky acoustic rendition of Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty.” Though he didn’t turn any chairs, the coaches were impressed by his tone, vibrato, arrangement skills, and willingness to take risks.
“Whoa! It’s so tiny and cool!” said coach Adam Levine as his chair turned and he spotted Dylan’s Traveler Guitar Ultra-Light.
Social media is still on fire with tweets and posts about Dylan, even earning him a mention in The Hollywood Reporter within an hour of the broadcast. Check out Dylan on YouTube, Twitter, and bandcamp.

I recently took a five-week trip to Europe with my family. I've been a guitarist for over 20 years, and I knew I couldn't go that long without a guitar. Luckily, I work for Traveler Guitar [blatant plug], and they were willing to loan me a guitar—provided I took lots of photos and wrote the post you're reading now.
